Tip #2001-4: Using Excel's Conditional Formatting

 

Add conditional formatting to a range

To add conditional formatting, select cells E3:E12 and choose Format -> Conditional Formatting. In the first dropdown box, choose Cell Value Is; in the second dropdown, choose equal to and in the text box type 0.5. Then click on the Format... button and format the cell font, border, or background the way you want it to display when the last price drops below 50% of the year's high. In this case, we chose to add a border and change the font color and background color. Click OK. When you're finished, the dialog box should look like the one below.
