How the newswire works
Reuters has an instrument code called N2_UBMS with specific applicable
fields which allow you to display the News 2000 headlines along
with some other information, such as:
- the news page code
- the instrument code for the company mentioned
in the headline
- the code for the source of the news
- the language in which the news article
is written
- the topic code
- the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) time of
the story
So, you use the RIC with its applicable fields and the information
pours into the worksheet. When you're ready to see the
full news story, simple type the news code from the headline
into the command input box in Reuters Terminal and get the full
text story behind the headline.
