I too am surprised that Excel doesn't allow a cell reference when creating a DDE link. We use old Lotus release 5 and it works great - even building text strings to create the link works fine...I'm trying to convert to Excel but keep finding obstacles such as this. If someone knows of a creative vb solution, let me know!
