Cell reference in a DDE link?

Hello.

Is there no way to use a cell reference in an Excel DDE link formula? Rather than hard coding the field identifier, I want to refer to the value in a cell.

Instead of:

=reuter|'IDN!BID'
I want:

=reuter|'IDN!'&A1

which, of coarse doesn't work. What does?
